One hour flying time from the Washington
DC, Baltimore and New York City Areas!
Come with River and Trail Outfitters to where it
snows more than anywhere else east of the Rocky Mountains.
Experience the gentle slopes and pristine backwoods
of Tug Hill, a 2,000 square mile wilderness area located
at the foot of the Adirondacks and east of Lake Ontario
in upstate New York. The lake effect snows provide a
natural snow machine, which drops from 250 to 400 inches
of snow each year, turning the region into a winter
wonderland from December through March. Beginners and
experienced cross-country skiers are both welcome on
our tours!

Friday and Saturday night hotel accommodations
in a historic sailing village overlooking Sacketts Harbor
with cozy restaurants that offer a variety of epicurean
delights.
Three meals, including a welcoming wine and cheese party
and dinner on Friday evening, Saturday lunch, and Sunday
turkey buffet .
Rental of cross-country skis, poles, boots, and instruction
or lessons if necessary.
Ground transportation and guide service for the three-day
trip.
A ski waxing clinic can be conducted for those interested
in more advanced techniques |

What to Wear and Bring.
Clothing:
Inner layer: wicking layer of silk or synthetic such as
polypropylene.
Intermediate layer: fleece or sweater
Outer layer: breathable, wind-blocking shell Gloves, wool
socks, hats and/or ear muffs
Bring: Small fanny pack or day pack to carry water
or thermos, tissues, chapstick, snack if needed
*Cotton garments can cause the body to lose heat when
you perspire and should be avoided.
One to two hour flight time
from most eastern cities into Syracuse International
Airport. River & Trail will provide ground transportation
from the airport and throughout the ski tour. |
