As the crisp air of autumn settles over the Shenandoah Valley
in Virginia and West Virginia and the hillsides take on the
brilliant fiery tones for which the valley is famous, it's
the perfect opportunity to get off the highways and onto the
rivers for a new look at the fall colors. The Fall Colors
& Old Potowmack Canal trip gives you the option of challenging
your canoe skills, or just kicking back and enjoying the ride
on a guided raft, as we run river rapids and tour the ruins
of river diversion dams, textile, stone-cutting and grist
mills, and lime kilns, along one of the most picturesque sections
of the Potomac River from above Harper's Ferry, east to Brunswick.
Join River and Trail Outfitters on this historical excursion
in an area rich in revolutionary, colonial, and Civil War
history with Harpers Ferry National Park, Antietam Battlefield,
and the C&O Canal National Park close at hand. Experience
living history on our guided history tours in Maryland, Virginia,
and West Virginia.
