River & Trail Outfitters Brews Up Boating & Beer Fun!
River & Trail Outfitters fills beer lovers to the rim with a fun boating
and beer dynamic duo, padding on the Monocacy River, followed
by sipping quenching samples and pints of beer at Barley & Hops
Microbrewery.
River & Trail Outfitter’s has partnered with Barley & Hops Brewery,
in Frederick, Md., to create the ultimate goodtime frothy boat and
brew day to satiate outdoor enthusiasts with a thirst for cold, frosty
artisanal beer.
The quenching dynamic duo day launches Saturday mornings at 10:30 with a
relaxing guided 5.8 miles kayak or canoe tour along the mellow
Monocacy River, the second largest tributary of the Potomac with a
few moderate lively ledges and riffles. Paddlers of all level will share
the waterways with Black Ducks, Mallards and visiting Sandpipers,
while drinking in the surrounding fragrant forest, farmlands and
breathtaking Catoctin Mountains. It’s eye-candy to the soul.
The schmoozy-cruise caps off at Barley and Hops Microbrewery,
where the folks there believe “Life’s too short to drink bad beer.” Brew
Master William Golden shares his blending wealth of knowledge
during a light-handed educational tour of the popular brewery.
Afterwards, it’s tasting time! Paddlers get to sample half dozen
handcrafted brews - with fun names like Dirty Little Blonde Lager,
Annapolis Rock Ale and German-inspired seasonal Highway to Helle
– then choose their favorite and kick back on the patio with a pint of
deliciousness. Tasty beer snacks such as mozzarella cheese sticks,
veggies and onion rings are provided, while burgers, ribs, sandwiches
and salads can be ordered off the menu at an additional cost.
“This tour is a real crowd pleaser. It’s a fun, stress-busting way to
enjoy nature, play on our beautiful waterways and then chill out
savoring delicious local handcrafted beer.” Says Natasha Baihly,
who runs River & Trail with her father Lee Baihly and other family
members.
