Online Reservation Tips
Helpful Hints for Booking
with our On-Line
Reservations System
- Enter all information carefully from the beginning
so that you do not have to hit the restart button. If you do, you will be taken
back to a page where you must reselect the trip you are looking for.
In
particular, make sure you enter the accurate number of people going so that you
do not have to change numbers in the middle of the reservation. This is a
little tricky.
- If needed, you can adjust the number of people in
your party on the Confirm Reservation Details page.
- To decrease your numbers, under "edit",
select "party". under the "delete" column, hit the icon of the trash can to
"throw away" one party member at a time. You cannot increase numbers here.
- To increase your numbers, under "edit",
select "quantity". Increase numbers on this screen, you cannot decrease numbers
here.

Reservations
Please make
reservations in advance for most trips
Reservations should be made in
advance whenever possible. This arrangement will help to insure your spot
on our rafting, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, hiking, biking trips and tours.
However, if your trip happens to be a last minute impulse-check with us…we
have trips designed for folks that call or walk-in at the last minute.
Reservations by phone. Call us
at 301 695-5177 or 888 i go play (446-7529) between 9 am and 5 pm seven days a
week to make your reservation by phone. Have a credit card handy if this is how
you plan to pay for your trip.
Reservations on-line. Many of
our trips have the option to book on-line if you prefer. On each individual
trip page you will find the option if it is available
Payments in advance:
Individuals:
River &
Trail Outfitters requires full payment upon booking for parties of 9 or
less.
Groups of ten or more:
Reserving 30+ days in
advance:
50% down within two weeks of making the reservation
Full payment seven days before trip
Reserving less than 30 days in
advance:
Full payment seven days before trip
In addition a
credit card number or 50% deposit is necessary to hold the reservation
*other payment options may be available
if arranged prior to the trip.
Refund Policy:
Individuals: No money refunds
are given. However, you may reschedule your trip to a later date with two days
notice.
Groups of ten or more: : No
refund with less than three weeks notice for entire group cancellation. With
three weeks notice, River and Trail keeps 5% for administrative costs. Numbers
may be fine tuned without penalty up until seven days prior to the trip.
Additional Trip Information:
- All participants should arrive ½ hour prior
to trip departure time.
- Waivers
of Liability must be signed by all participants. Leaders of kids
(under 18) groups need to have a waiver ahead of time for parents to fill out
and sign.
- 5% amusement tax must be added to all guided
trips.
- 5% amusement tax + 6% state tax must be added to
all rentals
- A user fee of $2.00 will be added to all
trips.
- Trips run rain or shine.
- You will get wet, please leave all valuables at
home.
- Disposable cameras are available at our shop for
trips.
- Groups may
request a photographer with advance notice. Coliseum
Works provides pictures on our Shenandoah/Potomac Rafting trip on most weekends
and some weekdays.
- We reserve the right to relocate or change raft
size, number of guests per craft, and length of trip due to abnormal river flow
and conditions.
