Join River and Trail Outfitters in Knoxville, Maryland near Harpers Ferry, West Virginia ( only one hour from Washington DC )
for this guided kayaking tour on the Potomac River. After checking in at River & Trail, paddlers will drive 10 minutes away to Brunswick
Family Campground where they will launch by kayak or canoe and paddle a mellow section of the Potomac. Evening is the perfect time to
witness great blue herons, egrets, kingfishers, and the occasional eagle on the river. The trip will be for a duration of 3-6 miles,
depending on water levels and sunset times. To make this trip a fun and convenient overnighter, make reservations at the Brunswick Family
campground which is the launching spot for the trip. Show up a bit early to set up your tent or camper before you take off down the river.
Bikes are available to rent from the campground or 1/2 mile away at our Bike Barn to pedal to Harpers Ferry or
farther on the scenic, tree-lined pathway of the C&O Canal.
*River & Trail cannot guarantee that you will see the ball of the sun go down or the full moon rise depending on several factors
including number of days before or after full moon, mountains, clouds, etc... however, most of our trips successfully catch site of
the moon rising by the end of the trip!
