Wilderness First Aid Course
Training for Emergencies in Wilderness and Remote
Environments

River & Trail Outfitters now offers a two day
Wilderness and Remote First Aid course for near Harpers Ferry, WV. This
American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid course, taught by certified
instructors, is a sixteen-hour course designed to give you the skills you need
to respond to situations when help is delayed or not readily available. Course
participants must be at least 14 years of age and possess current certification
in Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator
(CPR/AED). Class will be held both days from 9am to 5pm.
Topics covered will include:
- Primary and Secondary Assessments
- Head (Brain), Neck, and Spinal Injuries
- Heat-Related Emergencies and Hypothermia
- Altitude-Related Illnesses, Allergies, and
Anaphylaxis
- Bone and Joint Injuries
- Burns Wounds and Wound Infection

This course is based on the Boy Scouts of America's
"Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines" and has been
reviewed and/or supported by the American Camp Association, American Canoe
Association, National Recreation and Park Association, and JCC Association.

What to bring:
- Dress for the weather and comfort
- Hiking Boots.
- Backpack
- Lunch, snacks and plenty of water for both
days
- Old clothing that can be cut up for bandaging
etc
- Ground Mat or Old Blanket
- CPR Certification Card

We will be outdoors most class hours so please prepare for
the elements of nature. However, during bad weather days we reserve the right
to remain in the classroom for your safety.

Price: $175.00 for public and $125.00 for scouts and
other non profits
*Add 5% amusement fee
& $2 user fee/ person.
