Kayaking trips on the Shenandoah River above Harpers Ferry are a perfect
getaway for families, couples, and groups. As you paddle this scenic river, you

"In the last 3 or 4 years, Debi and I have used
River & Trail for canoe rentals, kayaking, rafting, and tubing. I just
wanted to pass along our appreciation for the quality of service that we have
received from your organization; the professionalism, qualifications, and
generally good personality of your guides, and the amount of fun that we've had
on our outings!" John Jasen |

Day - Antietam Creek
near Antietam Battlefield |
 |
|

|
Description: Join us on this
4-5 hour Maryland canoe or kayak trip which simply has it all. Putting in at
Rt. 34, just above the well-photographed Burnside Bridge, you will begin the
trip floating through sections of Antietam National Battlefield. As you
navigate the riffles and ledges of this scenic spring-fed stream, your skills
to move canoes and kayaks around rocks and through currents will be put to the
test. After 6 miles on the Antietam, the final rapid will carry you under a
stone aqua duct and out into the broad Potomac River. The last 4 miles,
paddlers have an opportunity to unwind on the mellow and scenic waterway of our
nation's river. |
|
This combination run on the Antietam Creek and Potomac
River is perfect for those canoers and kayakers looking for a mix of mellow and
beginner whitewater, while paddling in unique circumstances-- under stone-arch
bridges and a canopy of trees. |

"On behalf of my group, I'd like to thank you for a
really excellent trip. Dave was exemplary - being there when we needed some
assistance but otherwise letting run the trip according to what was best for
our guys. The weather was great, the boys had a wonderful time canoeing and
swimming, and they really learned a great deal about themselves in the process.
The trip got an "A+." Mark Zehnwirth |
