Paddle & Wine Tasting Tour |
We have teamed up with
Tarara Winery in Loudoun County, Virginia to offer
you a unique experience on a private paddle and wine tour. Our guides will
meet you at the winery and guide you on a 4.5 to 7 mile canoe paddle
(kayaks can also be used) on the Potomac or Shenandoah River. This gentle
stretch is rich in natural beauty and makes for a relaxing and fun time on
this scenic stretch of river. You will finish back at the winery, where
you will sample 5 or 6 different wines in the privacy of an outdoor
pavilion.
The paddle and wine tour is an exquisite event, great for
corporate groups, couples, wine connoisseurs and anyone who can appreciate the
love of river and wine.
Food Options
RIVER & TRAIL RECOMMENDS that you pack a lunch and at
least 32 ounces of water/person in a plastic bag or watertight container to eat
along the river.
If
you wish us to provide lunch we have: Veggie
Box: humus,alfalfa sprouts, bell pepper, cucumber,carrot and romaine
lettuce in a tortilla Ham Box: Ham w/ cheddar cheese, lettuce, herb oil,
honey mustard Chicken Box: Smoked chicken w/ honey mustard, lettuce,
herb oil. Water is not included to encourage people to bring their own water
bottles (32 ounces+) on the trip and save trash.

Paddle, Wine & Concert Series
The Sounds of Summer Concert Series boasts
Saturday evenings full of music performed by legendary musicians, award-winning
wine and good food…all under the stars. Tucked in the woods on Tarara's
475 acres, the concert stage hangs (suspended) next to Shadow Lake and creates
the perfect venue for summer blues, 80s, 90s and contemporary pop hits. Join
River & Trail for a guided leisurely paddle along the Potomac River and
ending at Tarara just before the concert begins. You will have the opportunity
to sample wines and purchase foods along with the crowd that has come to enjoy
the concert. Bring a blanket and lie under the stars as you enjoy the featured
bands.

Food Options
RIVER & TRAIL RECOMMENDS that you pack a lunch and at
least 32 ounces of water/person in a plastic bag or watertight container to eat
along the river.
A box picnic lunch can be provided for an additional
$8/person and MUST BE ORDERED AHEAD OF TIME. Choose from the following
sandwiches on whole grain breads: Veggie Box: Humus, couscous, celery
seed yogurt sauce, cucumber, tomato, grilled onion, lettuce. Ham Box:
Ham w/ cheddar cheese, lettuce, herb oil, honey mustard. Turkey Box:
Turkey w/ honey mustard, lettuce, herb oil
Itinerary for Paddle & Wine
Tasting:
- Meet our guides at Tarara Winery's parking lot at 10:30
am. Follow our signs upon entering Tarara. Park on the grass next to the
blacktop parking lot.
- Depart for canoe/kayak paddle at 11:00 am.
- Return back to the winery for wine tasting and tour at
approx. 3:00 pm.
- Tour ends at 5:00 pm. Starting time can be altered for
private groups.
Itinerary for Paddle, Wine &
Concert Series:
- Meet our guides at Tarara Winery's parking lot at 2:00
pm. Follow our signs upon entering Tarara. Park on the grass next to the
blacktop parking lot.
- Depart for canoe/kayak paddle at 2:30 pm.
- Return back to the winery for wine tasting and tour at
approx. 5:30pm
- 5:30 - 6:00pm Optional Self-guided winery tour
- 6:30-9:30pm Live Concert & 5 Wine Tasting
