Harpers Ferry White Water Rafting trips go through Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia!

Join us for whitewater rafting on the final stretches of the Shenandoah River as it tumbles into the Potomac, carving a spectacular 6.5- mile watercourse through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
    • Go white water rafting through three states and on two rivers!
    • Trip takes place on the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers*
    • Includes a riverside snack of a granola bar, apple squeeze or fruit, and drink
    • Guides are trained and certified by the WV DNR. In addition, they receive training on natural and Harpers Ferry history and area plants and animals.
    • Located only 1 hour from Washington, DC & Baltimore, MD beltways

*During periods of low water, this trip takes place on the Potomac River (2 hrs), passing by Harpers Ferry. Rapids include a long series of Class II rapids through the Needles of the Potomac culminating in the wavy fun of Class III White Horse! “Funneling” or swimming through the rapids is included as weather permits.  Call us for current river level updates or check out our River Levels page. 

**Guests will need to walk up a short, steep hill at the end of the trip to board the bus!

    Length of Trip: Approximately 3 – 4 hours on the river.  Depending on water levels and routing, the trip duration can range from 2.5 – 5 hour

Ready to level up from rafting? Hop into a Ducky and enjoy a splashing good time on this inflatable whitewater kayaking adventure—perfect for families with teens and adventurous paddlers ages 12 and up!  Inflatable kayaks are stable, easy to steer, and all about hands-on fun. Tip over? Just flip it upright, climb back on, and keep on paddling— and yes… expect to get wet!

  • An experienced guide gives basic instruction and leads the group downriver.
  • Kayak the Shenandoah River into the Potomac River at scenic Harpers Ferry.*
  • Participants should be reasonably active, weigh between 90-250 lbs., and be ready to help carry the lightweight duckies up a short hill at the end of the trip.
  • Inflatable kayaks are limited, so be sure to reserve this trip in advance.
  • One trip available per day.  Groups of 6 or more call to book.
