Kayaking this broad and beautiful section of the Potomac River near Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and Brunswick, Maryland is an area favorite. Kayaking and canoeing this stretch includes mellow water stretches interspersed with three sets of rapids, last but not least, the challenging Knoxville Falls! Paddlers should have previous experience and successfully navigated Class II rapids in a kayak before. Only single kayaks are available to rent on this trip as the put-in requires carrying the boats down a steep gravel hill. Shoes with good traction are required!
