Paddle 6 miles on this mellow section of the Potomac River that has been described in National Park literature as, “one of the most beautiful stretches of navigable waterways in the mid-Atlantic.” Visit sand and gravel beaches, wade or go for a swim, and explore the Catoctin Creek tributary as water levels permit.
Enjoy watching the eagles soar above and spotting the many other birds that call this area home. End your day at the Creek’s Edge Winery in Lovettsville, VA next to Catoctin Creek. This winery is housed in a stunningly beautiful wilderness lodge and is the perfect place to kick back, relax, and enjoy a locally made wine tasting and choice of a scrumptious hot sandwich.

- For the river trip: Be sure and bring a sack lunch/snack in a waterproof, compressible bag, and plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.

Paddle to Wine Tasting at Creek’s Edge Itinerary
10:30 am Check-in at the Brunswick Family Campground
11:00 am Trip talk and departure from the river landing
1:30 pm Take out at Point of Rocks and get shuttle transport back to Brunswick
2:00 pm Arrive at Brunswick Family Campground, change into dry clothes, drive over to Creek’s Edge Winery
3:00 pm Arrive at Creek’s Edge Winery for tasting

Relax at our riverfront campground beside the Potomac River and the C&O Canal Towpath, just 15 minutes from Harpers Ferry. Tent, RV and cabins available. Bike, canoe, kayak and tube rentals onsite. Playground, pavilions, bath house, camp store. Campers get 10% discount on select River & Trail activities.
Bike Rentals
Stay overnight at our campground and add a morning bike rental on the C&O Canal to your itinerary. Save $10/person on your paddle & bike trip combo when you book for consecutive days. Enjoy another paddle on the Potomac River, but this time experience mellow waters mixed with wavy rapid fun! After your trip, head to Big Cork Winery which feature amazing white wines and a facility worthy of Napa Valley. Dates are limited so reserve as soon as possible!
