1. Brunswick Family Campground in Brunswick, Maryland, near Harpers Ferry, West Virginia
The Brunswick Family Campground is family-owned and is the only private campground located on the historic C&O Canal. One of the benefits of this campground is its location. Camping near Frederick, Maryland, Brunswick is a historic train town built in the late 1800s, offering a heritage museum and small town charm. The campground is also conveniently located 15 minutes away from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and only about an hour from Washington D.C. and Baltimore.
The campground is nestled between the Potomac River and the C&O Canal, making it one of the best campgrounds when it comes to easy river access and scenic biking and hiking trails. River & Trail Outfitters manages this campground and offers bike rentals for the C&O Canal. Canoeing and kayaking on the Potomac and river tubing trips and rentals depart from the campground boat ramp! Nearby, Harpers Ferry rafting trips are available as well as airsoft and whitewater tubing adventures! There is something for kids of all ages to enjoy.
Amenities at the campground include a playground, a basketball court, a bathhouse, and a volleyball net.

2. Sun Outdoors Ocean City Campground in Berlin, Maryland
The Sun Outdoors Campground in Ocean City, Maryland, is conveniently located 15 minutes away from the Ocean City Boardwalk! This campground has a wide range of amenities, including an arcade, a tiki bar, a dog park, a propane filling station, and a pool with a hot tub. Located two and a half hours from Baltimore, this campground is a great option for families looking for a coastal camping getaway in Maryland.
With over 300 full hookup RV Sites with a variety of back-in and pull-through options, the Sun Outdoors Ocean City Campground provides a perfect spot for everyone! These concrete sites have options of 15, 20, 30, and/or 50 amp electric, offering ease of parking. Depending on the site, some of the RV spots offer a water view, proximity to a beach, or even a separate private parking spot for your vehicle.
The Sun Outdoors Campground also offers tent camping sites with electric hookups available. Guests can choose between grassy or gravel pads, all equipped with 20, 30, and 50 amp electric if needed. Each tent site has a picnic table and a fire pit. This tent camping area near the ocean provides an exciting and memorable experience for campers of all ages.
The Sun Outdoors Campground offers several different levels of premium cottage accommodations, with both one and two-bedroom options available. These cabin options provide a great way to stay near the sunny Ocean City.
3. Ridge Rider Campground in Little Orleans, Maryland
Located in quaint Little Orleans, Maryland, Ridge Riders campground offers an experience for all. With proximity to Green Ridge State Forest and the Western Maryland Rail Trail, there are plenty of awesome opportunities to get outdoors! Amenities include a swimming pool, a laundry room, a basketball court, a catch-and-release pond, and even a trout-filled creek that runs through the campground!
Ridge Riders has options close to the creek or nestled in the woods, and each tent and RV site comes with a firepit and picnic table. With pull-through and back-in RV spots featuring water and 30/50 amp electric, this campground is great for RVs of all sizes!
Perfect for individuals or groups, the Ridge Riders cabins provide a complete camping experience! Each cabin includes a full-sized kitchen, full baths, heat, air conditioning, sheets, towels, bedding, and a fire pit and picnic table outside! With pet-friendly options, this campground provides an experience all members of the family can enjoy!
4. Sleepy Hollow Campground in Grantsville, Maryland
Sleepy Hollow Campground is located in Grantsville, Maryland. This campground has a proximity to so many awesome recreation destinations, including New Germany State Park, Savage River, and the town of Frostburg. This location provides a great way to explore Western Maryland. Amenities at this campground include wifi, a renovated bathhouse, and a store that is open 24/7!
This campground near Frostburg has 30 and 50-amp electric sites. Most sites are back in, with a limited number of pull-through sites available. The campground is heavily wooded, providing shade at most sites.
Sleepy Hollow has two different tenting areas. One has no specific sites and is first-come, first-served camping, popular due to its proximity to the bathhouse. The second tent camping area features designated sites that are more tucked away, offering more privacy.
Sleepy Hollow offers three tiers of cabin rentals, all including electricity, outlets, heat, and a cooling unit, whether that be AC or a fan. With different tiers of cabins, you are sure to find a great option for your family!
