Trip Operating Protocols

  Safety Protocol.  

  • Check-in
        • Advanced reservations and signing waivers online are strongly advised.
          On-line reservations are available: 
          Rafting : 22 hours before a trip 
          Kayak/canoe rentals : 18 hours before a trip
          Shenandoah
          mellow & Potomac whitewater tubing: 1 hour before a trip 
          Potomac mellow tubing with snack:  18 hours before a trip
          Park & Paddle: 18 hours before a trip
          Reservations may be made by phone at anytime based on availability. 
        • Outdoor or ventilated check-in will be used as much as possible.  Our four check-in locations allow for less people in one area!
        • Hand sanitizer will be available for guests at different locations.  Staff will participate in frequent handwashing. 
        • Wiping down of frequently touched surfaces such as waiver signing areas, pens, bathrooms, porta johns, door handles.  
  • Trip protocols
      • Rafting Specifics:
        4-5 people + 1 guide per raft.   Groups smaller than 4 people can either mix with other groups to fill a raft or opt to use our single inflatable duckies.  
      • Tubing Trips:
        Weekday trips are advised as lower traffic times for Shenandoah Mellow Tubing(especially) & Harpers Ferry Whitewater Tubing. 
      • All Trips:
        Guests and staff must wear face coverings inside of buildings and buses.
      • Guests must have a watertight bag that will hold their face coverings during their trip.     
      • All personal equipment will be cleaned after each use.  This includes life vests & helmets.
      • Shuttles:
        • Face coverings are required in all vehicles.  Windows will be open for ventilation.
  • Cleaning Protocols
  • Cleaning products will be used on personal equipment, in buildings, porta johns, and bathhouses that are effective against the corona virus.
